Election February 16, 2012

Medford Food Co-op Election February 16, 2012

The Annual Meeting of the Medford Food Co-op Owner-Members and election of the Board of Directors will be held at the former Scottish Rite Hall, located on the SE corner of E. Barnett and No. Phoenix Rd., Thursday February 16th 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. We’ll discuss the first six months of the Co-op’s operations, answer questions, and talk about future opportunities.

We’ll also be electing members to two year terms on the Board of Directors.

Our bylaws state two ways to nominate members to the Board of Directors. The first way is for the Nominating committee to submit names into nomination. The second way is open to any Owner-Member to submit a self-nominating petition with fifteen Co-op Owner-Member signatures at least 45 days before the Annual Meeting election. The petition would have to be submitted by January 1, 2012. The board represents the community of Owner-Members and is responsible for seeing that our store reflects the best interests of our community. At present the Board meets the third Monday of each month at 6:00 P.M.

The beginning of a venture is always a time of great importance because early decisions have a significant and far-reaching effect on an organization’s identity and functioning. Please attend the Annual Meeting of Co-op shareholders. We’d appreciate your input.
