Minutes of the 8-2-2010 Board Meeting

Minutes of August 2, 2010

The meeting was called to order at 6:04 PM.  Present were Jim Sims, Donna Kessler, John Miele and member-owners Charlotte and Larry Cooper. Augustine Colebrook arrived later. Tommy Larson was absent. President Jim Sims served as the meeting’s secretary.

Old Business:
Jim Sims reported that the Co-op has now reached its goal raising $500,000 in received loans and pledges. The Board authorized releasing this information to the Mail Tribune and other media.

New Business:
The Board discussed beginning the search for a General Manager. Jim will contact the Cooperative Development Service and the Ashland Food Co-op in this regard.

The Board discussed the value of working closely with the Ashland Food Co-op to develop a time line and criteria for store operations and opening for business. Jim will contact the General Manager of the Ashland store.

The Co-op’s checking account remains unchanged since our last meeting. Since May we have had only one bill for $78 to print copies of our business plan. Otherwise we have had no expenses.

The Board adjourned into executive session at 6:22 PM.
