Have you ever seen the Mel Gibson movie,“What Women Want” ? Gibson stars as a hotshot advertising executive encouraged to try a plethora of women's products to get a better understanding of how to market them. As a body care buyer here at the Co-op, I often find myself feeling like Gibson, as my husband rolls his eyes while I have a new green face mask on, followed by a sample toner, serum, cream; you name it, I have sampled it!
Several weeks ago I received samples of a new body care line, Acure. I loved every single product! I worked quickly and got the majority of the line on the Co-op shelves.
Acure always uses Organic,100% plant and food based, Fair Trade ingredients, pure essential oils, plus Eco-friendly packaging. Aside from that great list, most of their products contain rich, sustainably sourced Moroccan Argan oil, probiotics, and Chlorella stem cells that provide clinically proven results.
Argan oil contains Omega-3 and Omega-9 fatty acids. These deeply penetrate the skin and hair delivering nutrients directly to the cells, helping to repair damage and create a shield against harmful UV rays and other environmental pollutants. Argan oil also has a high concentration of Vitamin E, which increases the cell's ability to absorb oxygen, leading to better circulation.
Acure uses certified organic, open-cell chlorella (a green algae) in their skin care to help expedite cellular turnover. Our bodies do a pretty consistent job of replacing dead skin cells, that is until we are in our in our late twenties; everything starts to slow down and cellular turnover, or lack thereof, can start to show, first around your eyes, mouth and so on, in the form of wrinkles. The Chlorella Growth Factor (CGF) is rich in RNA and DNA- the nucleic acids that create life! Healthy cells count on replication of our RNA and DNA. CGF helps to boost this process and protects the newly formed cells. CGF is also clinically proven to protect collagen and elastin (fibers that keep our skin tight and plump) from the enzymes that destroy them; crucial to slow the aging process.
Just as important as what goes into their formulas, what they leave out matters too! Acure has a “Velvet Rope” policy for their ingredients-- if you're not on the list, you don't get in. Acure never uses parabens, sulfates, petrochemicals, phthalates, formaldehyde, synthetic fragrances, ethanolamine, mineral oil, propylene glycol, silicone, or any other nasty stuff found in most conventional skin care.
If that weren't enough, Acure is also committed to sustainability. They utilize green, recycled packaging that is 100% biodegradable. For every body lotion sold, they plant a tree in their partnership with Trees for the Future and a portion of proceeds from every hair care purchase is donated to Water.org, which creates accessible, safe water supplies in developing countries; Acure for your skin—Acure for the planet.
I am happy to pass on my excitement for Acure, a truly mindful company! The products are on our shelves and I am armed with samples and suggestions for every skin type!
