We were recently notified that a Medford Food Co-op staff member tested positive for COVID-19. This individual’s last shift at the Co-op was August 13th. We want to assure you that we are following all recommended guidelines from the local health department, the Oregon Health Authority (OHA), and Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
As per the Governor's orders, face coverings will be required beginning this Friday, August 13th. We will be enforcing this requirement for all shoppers, including children over the age of 5. We strongly encourage children under 5 to also wear face coverings with the assistance and supervision of an adult.
As per the updated guidance from the CDC and OHA, the Co-op strongly encourages face coverings for all shoppers regardless of vaccination status.
Nearly 70% of all Oregonians 18 and older have received a first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine! In accordance with the most recent state guidelines, MFC will no longer enforce face coverings for shoppers or staff members beginning Wednesday, June 30th.
In light of the updated guidance from OHA and OSHA, Medford Food Co-op will continue to require face coverings in both the store and the Café. It is an unreasonable burden for staff to check the vaccination status of each and every customer, and the Co-op does not have the resources to question every shopper prior to offering our services.
