From the GM: COVID-19 Holiday Update

As local infection rates continue at elevated levels, we want to keep the community updated on our current policies and procedures.

Face Coverings

Face coverings have been required while in the store or the Café since July 1st. We continue to offer online ordering with curbside pick-up for those unable to wear a face covering. The most recent guidance from the state recommends the use of a mask or face covering in place of a face shield. We will continue to allow full faces shields for those with medical exemptions, but encourage community members to help keep one another safe and slow the spread of COVID-19 by properly wearing a mask or face covering while visiting the Co-op.

Staff members are required to wear face coverings at all times, except while eating or drinking in designated areas. Staff continue to adhere to strict health and safety standards, practicing more frequent hand-washing and glove changing. Staff members displaying any symptoms are directed to stay home, and any staff members with possible or known exposures have been quarantining as per the recommended guidelines.

Customer Flow

New state guidelines restrict grocery store capacity to 75% and encourage curbside pick-up. We recognize that the Co-op can feel crowded even before we reach 75% of our capacity, so we'll begin restricting the number of shoppers during our busiest hours. Staff will be metering the number of shoppers as they enter. When we reach the maximum, additional shoppers will be given a restaurant pager so they can wait in the comfort of their car until their number is called.

Help us improve customer flow and wait times by limiting the size of your shopping party to 1-2 people. Making a shopping list will help streamline your shop and reduce your time in-store. If possible, consider shopping early in the day or later in the evening to avoid busy times.

There are no product limits at this time. As the pandemic continues, we may face product shortages again. We thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as we work through any supply issues.

Paper bags are in short supply. We continue to order paper grocery bags, but due to a nationwide shortage, we want to encourage you to reuse. Your clean, reusable shopping bags are welcome. To reduce hand-to-hand contact and limit staff exposure, we do ask that you bag your own groceries when utilizing reusable grocery bags.

Cleaning Practices

Due to the change in seasons and the complications of freezing weather, the outdoor hand washing sink is no longer available. We offer and encourage the use of hand sanitizer. A dispenser is available outside before you enter the store, and an additional dispensers is available in the bulk department.

We continue to disinfect and clean carts and hand baskets in between each use. Staff regularly sanitize high-touch areas around the store multiple times throughout the day.
