Gruyere cheese

Gruyere cheese is delicious in dishes made with mushrooms, like soups and casseroles. It is a star performer on appetizer platters with roasted or raw vegetables. It’s even fit for dessert, with thin slices of ripe pears and crispy apples. With origins in Switzerland, this pale yellow to golden-brown cheese can be described as nutty, light and fruity, slightly salty and complex in flavor. Gruyere melts beautifully (it’s a classic addition to fondues), and can be grated onto pastas and salads.

A wonderful cheese for:

  • Fondues
  • Scalloped potatoes
  • Delicious for snacking
  • Appetizer tray
  • French onion soup
  • Macaroni and cheese
  • Quiches
