In light of the updated guidance from OHA and OSHA, Medford Food Co-op will continue to require face coverings in both the store and the Café. It is an unreasonable burden for staff to check the vaccination status of each and every customer, and the Co-op does not have the resources to question every shopper prior to offering our services. We welcome everyone wearing appropriate face coverings, and offer curbside pick-up for both groceries and Café orders for those unable to do so. We thank our community for their ongoing commitment to cooperation, which is vital to our organization and the services we are able to offer.
If you choose not to cooperate with our current mask policy, we politely request that you shop elsewhere. We will not tolerate any harassment of staff. Personal grudges about guidelines and impolite comments will not be tolerated. Masks must be properly worn at all times during your visit. If staff members must issue reminders of proper mask wearing repeatedly, shoppers may be asked to leave. Co-op staff have been bearing the brunt of the public's negativity regarding masks for the past year, and the mental health burden placed on grocery store workers is immense and unfair. Please be kind to each other as we continue to navigate this difficult situation, and treat staff with the respect they deserve for providing goods and services – even at their own risk of illness or ill treatment.
The Co-op will continue to monitor CDC, OHA, and OSHA guidelines and will regularly evaluate our policies as more information becomes available. If you have any questions regarding our current policies, please contact the General Manager at email@example.com.
