Alexis has a rich history in natural and Co-Operative grocery, having served as a Co-Op Grocery Department Manager and Board Member, as well as a Nutrition Consultant and, later, General Manager for a long-standing, family-owned natural grocery store. She holds a Bachelors of Science in Nutrition, with a Culinary Science and Management concentration, and hosts a background in Organic agriculture, farm-to-table foodservice, food chemistry, product development, and sustainable animal husbandry.
Alexis has been a member of the Rogue Valley and Medford Food Co-op since 2017 and is passionate about the Organic and local food movements, as well as supporting earth-conscious products and services which give back to the people. Her professional experiences give her a unique insight into what it takes to bring food to the public, while her personal interests in environmental stewardship, quality foods, and wellness fuel her desire to connect neighbors and friends through the very same. During her previous tenure as Secretary of the Board, she was able to assist in successfully transitioning a treasured food Co-Op through an expansion and move, along with many other significant challenges. Alexis believes in the mission of the MFC and wishes to continue supporting the local agriculture and economy in a way that encourages a vibrant and healthy community.
