Vegan Burger Tasting

Vegan Burger's (a division of Kester Foods) roots go back over 60 years. In the late 1940's, a gentleman by the name of Amos started subscribing to a magazine called Organic Gardening. In addition to already being a lifelong vegetarian he became a fierce advocate for organic farming and products (which is perhaps why he lived to the age of 98!) He believed in growing all of his produce and fruit using only natural fertilizers and pesticides. Many of his projects were less than successful. Several times he had huge compost piles burst into open flames, and his idea of replacing pesticides with cayenne pepper spray made his strawberries hard to eat. Nevertheless, he persevered, and what was thought of as odd in the 50's and 60's is today recognized as healthy and sensible. Based on what was learned from him, Kester Foods began using the healthiest ingredients available. Ingredients that Amos would have approved of; all-natural, free from any chemicals or preservatives, gluten-free, soy-free, non-GMO, and simple. Come by the co-op today for a taste of their delicious Vegan Burger Mix!

Humm Kombucha Tasting

Sipping a cold glass of Humm Kombucha is like saying to your taste buds, “Hey you guys, you’ve been working hard. You deserve a spa day. After that we’ll go dancing and then we’ll just lie back and look at the stars together.” Your taste buds will never be more in love. What is kombucha you ask? An organic culture called a SCOBY (symbiotic colony of bacteria and yeast) is added to a sweet tea mixture and fermented for 7-30 days. Then specially trained magic fairies fly to the four corners of the globe to gather the most delicious spices and organic fruit juices available. Fairy dust makes everyone humm.
